On My Run and Happy Friday

I went for a beautiful run today. See the clouds? Moisture in the air. It makes running more fun! And do you see how fall is arriving? The trees are turning and leaves are beginning to blanket the trails.

Hiking in Telluride

Hi all! We're back home after a few terrific days hiking in breathtaking Telluride, CO.

We loved our active getaway. My husband and I hiked thirty miles in three days, up and down 10,000 feet total. Our rewards were lots of solitude, phenomenal views, marmots and pikas, old cabins, wild flowers like crazy, and (of course) chocolate. We have Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie to thank for our sojourn; they whisked Eddie off to Disneyland for some magical days of their own. I may play with instagram and post a few more pics, just because it's fun! I hope you've had a beautiful week. I look forward to catching up. Have a great Friday!

Beautiful Weekend: Loving These

I love the depth of color and the way he "strips the design to the essentials" (Avery's words). Our strip down to the essentials (declutter day) went well, thanks, but we're not looking at all minimalist just yet! Some day. I hope you have a beautiful, colorful, uncluttered weekend.

Today I Went to the Eye Doctor

for the first time in 24 years! And my eyes are perfect. Yay. Except part of me would like glasses. I do need sunglasses, so I had some fun looking through the pairs on 1st Dibs.

I think the aviators are great, and I love all the vintage Puccis. They're all sold, but give me ideas. I don't think I could wear the Chanels, but I still wanted to put them here. I saw the last pair at a Leslie Hindmann auction not long ago. Love them too. Happy Tuesday!

Eddie thought this one was especially fun -- it has a Lego staircase and wall after all. Quite something. I like the high ceilings, the pops of color, and owner's artworks myself...As seen in New York Magazine, the apartment of artist Melissa Marks, Vincente Caride and their Lego-loving son Archie. The first thing Eddie said when he saw the bedroom was, "I want that!" I like it too.

Weekend Views

There was a marvelous purple light out our back door last night...and we enjoyed lovely views on our snowshoe yesterday...It has been a rough week in our valley. A young boy, a student in Eddie's small school, died in an avalanche while he skied at Vail last Sunday. My heart aches for his family. Our community feels the loss deeply and over 1000 people attended the service to celebrate his happy life Friday. We go on, reminded to live life as fully as this boy did. And we hug our little ones...as often as we can!

Helen Frankenthaler

I hope you're having a lovely, lovely, quiet, restful week. Helen Frankenthaler died this morning. I love her art, which I've posted about both here and here. Her death makes me sad and nostalgic for a time even before mine... Read more about her in today's NY Times.
