New Follow Monday

Happy Monday all. I'm pleased to be starting a new weekly feature here that I'll call New Follow Monday! Each week, I'll link you to one or two gorgeous, new-to-me sites I've begun following over the past seven days, and I'll show you why I clicked follow. I'm definitely not a systematic blog follower (or blogger for that matter, until this series) so, while some of these have been around awhile, I never knew about them. Some are newer, but are very cool, promising great info and inspiration to come. So, here we go...
I'm very excited about this first follow: the new blog of Angie Hranowsky. I'm following for a number of reasons, including Angie's most recent post, in which she has expertly paired some jaw-dropping foot wear with a number of awe-inspiring spaces...
Also seen (and filed as "wow")...Angie is a successful Charleston SC area interior designer and the images above are from her pretty blog. In June of 2010, I found Angie's own home in a dog-eared copy of Charleston Magazine (which I promptly stole!). I fell in love with it for every reason and posted about it here. The same home was just recently featured in a stunning sneak peak on Design Sponge.Love! Angie does not post often...yet. But I know I'll love learning more about what inspires her when she does!
The next blog up this week is The North Elevation, which has been live since 2008 and has gobs of followers (duh, Liza). I'm following because of features like this... and this...both of which are so beautiful to me. But I'm also following for it's Favorite Picks (Auctions!!) series... and its Icons series...How amazing is this photograph of Andy Warhol at the Glass House? Definite FOLLOW.
I hope you have as much fun with New Follow Monday as I do. See you back here tomorrow!

Beautiful Weekend

I hope you have a beautiful weekend! I've been looking at artist Nicole Cohen's sumptuous New York home, as featured in the new Rue (page 100) and on her blog sketch42...She put it together herself with help and advice from her adoring blog community. And much of the art work is her own. Ahhh, to have that talent!
Thank you so much for visiting me here this week. And, as always, thank you for your kind comments. See you next week!
I'm crediting the amazing Lil Bee for leading me to sketch42 and Rue today!

Jackie

Wow...and these below are fun...
The photograph, taken by Mark Shaw in 1959, is available here. The watercolors are part of the sweet book Mrs. Kennedy Goes Abroad, found via Fallon Hogerty's A Lovely Being. I stumbled upon both today, completely separately. Perhaps there's meaning in that?

An Odyssey - Discovering Mangas

Aren't these rugs and poufs fun? They are Patricia Urquiola's new Mangas (sleeves) collection. I noticed them in the beautiful portfolio of interior designer Ligia Casanova Friday evening after Holly wrote about her. They happened to be in a store (I think) that she designed... I tried to find their creator that night, with nothing to go on. Then today I went to my newest follower Cez's fun blog, and there was a photo of the poufs and rugs, with the designer's name. Thank you, Cez. I did a little more digging and found additional images here. Just to recap, the odyssey went from Holly in Germany to Ligia in Italy to Cez (where?) to the Contemporist in the blogosphere to Gandia Blasco in Spain.

Cherner

Hi and happy Monday! I believe my love for the Cherner chair began in May 2006 with this home featured in Elle Decor. I thought it was the coolest, most delicate chair I'd ever seen. It's still my favorite chair and may always be. We have four of them in ebony lacquer. I'm happy to report they are as comfortable as they are stylish.I hope you have a great week!!
1-4 elle decor, 5 Maison de Vacances, 6 design hole online, 7 apartment therapy, 8 elle decor, 9 and 12 via the lovely Becky at houzz, 10 Desire to Inspire, 11 elle decor, 13 House Beautiful (and houzz and decor8 a while back), 14 Picocool.

Colorado Getaway

We may have to take a little road trip before the end of winter! Dunton Hot Springs, a pretty, four hour drive from here, is quintessential Colorado. This gorgeous resort, a restored ghost town near Telluride, has it all. Wow, I could use a soak and a stay in this incredible setting...
I do love Colorado! It's just a beautiful place to be. I hope you have such a happy weekend. Thank you for visiting here this week!
Found via the deservedly popular A Cup of Jo (17,000 followers! So I'm guessing you may have seen Dunton Hot Springs there, too).
