I desperately needed to move on from the pumpkin (below) (and all of Halloween! I love it for my son, but I'm very happy to be going forward.) so I'm quickly posting this beautiful library found on Lori's pinterest. I think I've been happily following Lori's blog Automatism for about three years now. I highly recommend it.

Sand Dunes

Happy mid-week! We visited the Great Sand Dunes National Park over the weekend. The dunes, about 200 miles south of here, are the beige hills beyond the grasses, below and in front of the mountains in this photo...They are vast and we barely scratched the surface of them during this visit. We had a great time putting our feet in the sand and sledding...I hope you are having a happy week.

Fall Day on the Trail

We enjoyed our remaining Fall colors today. What a fun afternoon it was...The sun poked through a few times to light up the Aspen leaves. I really do love it when that happens!

Happy weekend! We're having a lazy Saturday morning, so I spent a few minutes at 1st Dibs...


Each of these is in today's Saturday sale and I'd be very happy with all of them. Especially the 1940s-50s Brazilian cocktail bar! Love that. I hope the rest of your weekend is beautiful.

Beautiful Weekend

First, thanks so much for your kind comments on my last post! I'm feeling better every day. I hope to be outdoors a lot this weekend enjoying our Indian Summer... and I hope your weekend is beautiful, too. While resting a bit today, I browsed Sotheby's, and found some delicate works I like in this week's auctions...I hope you like them, too.

Beautiful view across the valley late this afternoon...Gum surgery yesterday... yuck. But my sister came to visit today. Yey. I'm astounded about the pace of this month. I think October will be calmer. I miss visiting all of you. Thank you for stopping by here!

Happy weekend! Sorry I haven't been here. Busy. Have you seen Megan Mullally's home in the September Elle Decor? I love pretty much everything about it...Especially the bedroom, which is inspiring me to tinker a bit in mine.and certainly this pool and this view would be awfully nice, too...I hope your time off these next couple of days is really beautiful!

Weekend Auction Finds

Hi. Happy long weekend (in the US). I've been browsing around some auctions, which ramp up in September, and have found a few pretty things from this week's events...Some delicate pocket watches, a couple of horses (I always fall for the weathervanes), a mint julep cup (always love these, too), and some very fun, feminine, intricate headboards. I hope your having a beautiful few days off.

Pieces are from from Garth (weathervane), Charlton (watches and cup), and Treadway (art by Walter Quirt and headboards).

Dreaming of...

Morocco. Marrakesh, really. La Mamounia, to be exact. Why? Because I'd like to rebel against the schedules and the ninth months of school (not my own, my child's) to come. So I'm looking at these...gorgeous images of La Mamounia. I was able to visit Marrakesh and stay in this magnificent hotel with my parents in the late '70s. It's been renovated back to it's original glory, which we experienced back then. We will take Eddie there someday, and tour the country the way I did when I was a child. And we'll purposefully miss school to do it!
