Yesterday's Run

When I started my running program back in late March, I said I'd take my camera along. It's ended up being my iphone because it's less bulky, and I'm usually breathing too hard to snap photos. But yesterday's run was a slow, fun recovery run and I took a few...It makes me very happy to be out in this beauty consistently. I also feel much stronger and better than I did a few months ago. I hope you too are able to be outside this weekend! Thanks for visiting me this week - I love reading your comments.

The Travel Files is Live

Danielle de Lange of the beautiful The Style Files has a new site: The Travel Files! She says, "The Travel Files is about traveling, exploring, dreaming and enjoying life. We showcase beautiful destinations from all over the world. Small or large, urban or rural, budget or high end: it doesn’t matter, as long as a place has a certain charm, edge or uniqueness. The Travel Files is dedicated to search the globe for beautiful hotels, B&B’s, restaurants, shops and other places worth visiting." This will be a new follow for me! It looks amazing. Congratulations to Danielle. Go check it out for yourself! Happy Thursday!

Happy Summer!

Ah, the first official day of this restorative season! I hope yours is going so well and that you're spending lots of time outdoors. This would be a nice place to do that, huh? Perhaps it's made the rounds, but it's worth another look...An amazing lake house in Montauk on Long Island, by Murdock Young Architects.

Slowpoke

Happy late Monday to you! I hope you had a fantastic weekend. I thought I'd tell you that we definitely need these adorable cups in my house... for two of the three of us. I just might be one of the those two. I think I'll spend a day with my little slowpoke at the local art studio making two ceramic ones just like these! His could hold his hot chocolate, mine my coffee. This original is from a new coffee house, Slowpoke Espresso, in Melbourne, Australia. Found thanks to Remodelista.

Beautiful Weekend

I hope you have a lovely weekend! I'm running in a 5k trail race tomorrow, which should be fun, and hard. Maybe I'll visualize this pretty painting and the fun pieces below it while I climb the big hill... These are being offered at the LA Modern Auction being held later in June. The painting is Crouching Figure by Frederick Wight, the floor lamp is French modern, maker unknown but it looks a lot like a Nelson lamp shade to me. The last is a Pig Planter by Rex Goode. See you Monday and thanks so much for visiting me here!

Cabin

on Flathead Lake in Montana...This says Summer to me! And Flathead Lake, a perfect Summer destination in itself, is only a 20 minute drive from Glacier National Park. We visited seven years ago and we'll definitely go back with Eddie in the next couple of years. We loved it there!

So Pretty

From Dual on 1st Dibs, an azure ceramic Meridian clock for Raymor...

Their description:
Italy
1950's
A ceramic clock with a Bitossi Rimini Blue style design of impressed geometric forms and glazed in azure and light green. Ceramic body made in Italy, designed by George Nelson, clock components by Howard Miller Clock Company and distributed by Raymor. Italian, circa 1950.

I think it would look great and so summery on my kitchen wall!
I hope you've had a perfect Sunday. I'm refreshed and looking forward to the new week! Be back soon.

Summery Pretty

Happy Tuesday to you! Apparently I need to get Elle Decor Italia from March 2011...I could spend a lot of my Summer relaxing in front of those windows. All these are from Inside and its counterpart Outside, originally from Elle Decor Italia. I found Inside thanks to the lovely Nelya of Head Over Heels.
The top two photographs, at least, are by Damian Russell for Elle Decor Italia.

Love Her

Happy Friday to you! I've been absorbed in life here lately, so not very present on the blog. I apologize. This morning, though, I found this lovely painting...at Sotheby's. Love her and wanted to share her here. I'm taken with her sweet confident expression, her swept-back brunette hair, the suggestion of a diaphanous white off-the-shoulder dress, the delicate pink flower, the happy summery light.
I hope June has been beautiful for you so far. We are off for our first camping adventure this weekend and we can't wait. We've been through an adorable kindergarten graduation, and then I went off for a few days to my college 25th reunion. Marvelous time with old friends, and a mini reunion with my sisters in Boston following the college adventures. I'm happy to be home, finally experiencing some warm sunshine here in the mountains. I've been catching up with some of you and I'm overwhelmed with inspiration! Thank you for that. I hope your weekend is great. Thanks so much for visiting.
