The House of KopCup

Today I'm inspired by this sweet home in Denmark... It is the home of Karen Skotte Lund and her family. Husband Claus built the house, which they've slowly filled with their meaningful collections. Ms. Skotte Lund creates her fun KopCup ceramic pieces here, and I love that her work is everywhere... because I also love her work! This home, as opposed to those I found over the past week to inspire me for declutter day, looks well-loved, lived in, and has great personality. I do hope for this in my own home, too!

If The Outside Looked Like This...

Happy Thursday! Declutter day went quite well, thank you. Now, if the outside looked like this, we'd be in Heaven (or Lech, Austria)... photos by Richard Powers for Dwell.

Corner View: Holiday

Christmas came to mind. It was very good, but I just can't go back there!
Then, immediately, Roman Holiday popped into my head...
It's one of my favorite films of all time.
Please, please do click here to watch a lovely clip of the princess dreaming about a holiday.

And please see other corner views from around the world here.

Pops of Color

How about some color! I love these cushions...
I definitely see them adding pops of color to my uncluttered, mainly white home (the one I dream of). By Marfa Interiors as seen on Simple Lovely.

Uncluttered and Feminine

Happy Monday! Today, I have more inspiration for our upcoming declutter day, these with some feminine softness....
This last photo, by Lisa Cohen, is perhaps my favorite bedroom image ever; it takes my breath away every time I see it. And I go back to it often for inspiration.

Weekend Play

We'd hoped to be outside a lot this weekend. We were and we loved it...
(p.s. that nordic-skiing woman is not me, I just liked her red gear against the snow)

DeClutter Day 01-2010

Next Wednesday is our first declutter day of 2010. Is it crazy to say I am so excited?!! Do you remember last year's declutter days (reminders here and here)? My husband the saint-- and the tidy one in the house-- takes the day off and we plow through all the cr##@@@p. It's the best feeling. In preparation, I'm finding pep-talk photos. Here's my first group (as in I'm not done yet)...Ahhhhhhhh. I feel so calm looking at these. yey yey yey

Cambodian Holiday

My adventuresome sister-in-law traveled to Cambodia for her holiday break. She is graciously letting me share some of her pretty, pretty photos here...
Above are from Angkor Wat. Below are scenes from around the countryside...
How amazing! She didn't just see the sights, she spent some time volunteering in an orphanage, too. She had a fantastic trip and I'm very happy for her. When our little one is a bit older, I hope to get back into the foreign travel saddle, but for now we move around vicariously through Anne. Thank you for letting me share, Anne! So glad you are safe and sound!
