Charlie Brown Would Love This

Well, we found our own Christmas tree in the forest. I was picturing something sparse, but with long, delicate branches at least. Like something out of a Sundance catalogue, maybe, or like the lovelies above. What we got was tall and skinny and a little curvy in the trunk (I'm calling her our runway model). We were in pretty high spirits for the first 15 minutes or so, then mr. contrary kicked in. But, ask a 3 1/2-year-old to hike on snow shoes in two-plus feet of snow at 11,000 feet and maybe you're setting yourself up. So we cajoled, took out the Christmas cookies, found a tree and cut it quick. By the time we were sawing, photos were a low priority...I have none of us with the tree! It was truly beautiful up there. Husband and I will have to go for a longer trek sometime soon. When our svelte beauty (c. brown really would love it) is decked out a bit, I'll post some photos. Until then, here is our quest...
