Whoa...Where'd That Week Go??!!

I can't believe I haven't written since last Monday... the week flew by. Eddie and I went sledding almost every day; I found, wrapped and sent some gifts; sent the cards; we decorated the tree; had a nice visit from Doug's brother and sister-in-law; went to the Dummy Gelunde contest in Vail Saturday (see below); and woke up to about a foot of snow yesterday! Here's our tree, which we found in the forest, and some of our favorite ornaments, which were Doug's family's, and thankfully came to us...

The Dummy Gelunde contest is goofy... contestants create dummy laden structures to send down a ski jump. The winner is the entry with the best combination of creativity, speed, flight and complete destruction upon crashing. Some of this year's entries included Santa on a sleigh, a Nasdaq machine, Dick Cheney driving a motorcycle, and a car representing the Big 3. First they have to haul them up...

Then they let 'em fly...Santa won. Beautiful flight...complete carnage. The bobsledder on the recliner was impressive, too.
