Wow, you got great shots! That's fairly rare...they're crafty, those elk ;) Only time I ever snuck up on one was on North Trail, with the wind blowing the wrong direction. Poor thing nearly had a heart attack when my dog and I turned the corner of the switchback. Jumped five feet straight up in the air and cleared my dog by a mile. Too funny! I miss that kind of view!
