I hope you're having a lovely, lovely, quiet, restful week. Helen Frankenthaler died this morning. I love her art, which I've posted about both here and here. Her death makes me sad and nostalgic for a time even before mine... Read more about her in today's NY Times.
All works by Helen Frankenthaler: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Oh Liza thank you for this ? I love her work & had not heard the news of her death. Very sad. Thank you.
Thank you again, Liza. I posted my own tribute today.
I wasn't familiar with her work before, but these pieces are incredibly beautiful.
Kendall -thank you so much for commenting, and I'm so glad I could, in a small way, introduce you to her work. We lost a good one...
Sally - I had a feeling you loved her work too!
You were right, Liza. I am still feeling sad too.
So sad...
Thanks so much Liza for allowing me to share this issue of your blog with my blog readers on www.kirsteinfineart.com
So inspiring, and I have placed a link on my blog back to your blog. Frankenthaler has always been one of my favorite painters.
