Happy Friday to you! I'm so excited to be moving into the new year and I'll be back to wish you a good one later. Before we move on, I never did show you a full photo of our tree. Here it is on Christmas morning... It's definitely the best one we've found in the forest over the three times we've ventured out to fell one ourselves. While we had such fun searching for it, it really is emotionally difficult to cut a tree. We cut it from a cluster, though, which the Forest Service encourages. It helps the others to grow stronger. Thank you, tree. You've been a marvelous addition to our celebration.
Lovely to cut your own tree. We did that a few years back but it did feel kind of sad too. One thing I hate to see after Christmas is all the abandoned trees outside homes. This year we bought our tree from a farmer - it really is the most gorgeous bushy tree ever and I won't want to take it down in the next week. Happy 2012 to you all.
I live in the mountains of Colorado with my husband and my eight-year-old son. Here I put anything that inspires me, from design to art to what I see outside my door. Thanks for visiting.
I'd be flattered if you'd like to use any content from this blog. Please let me know when you do, credit Postcards from Colorado, and link back to this site. Thanks so much.

Looks to have been a very happy tree-cutting expedition. How lovely to have the combination of bright sun and snow.
