Happy Friday and happy April. Happy baseball season and happy final four! So much to be happy for today. Guess what...I'm off to do workout number five in my quest to run a half marathon in the fall!

Did I tell you I started a work-out program this week to train, slowly and methodically, for running in a race? I did. And I am SO very sore. How did I get so pitifully out of shape?! I've been athletic my whole life until... and I think I can pinpoint this pretty well... until I discovered blogging. Three. Years. Ago. Oh dear. That's 1095 days of not breaking a sweat! Yes, I've hiked and skied, but recently I haven't been consistent or passionate about either. So when I received a text last Friday from my sister saying, "I put link on fb for you to check out. If you are interested... there are only a few spots left!" I warily opened facebook. I found
this link. And I honestly signed up to train for and run in the
Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Fransisco in October.

I've never run that far before. But I'm going to! So, on day five I'll ask you... do you know what muscles do when you haven't worked them for three years, then one day you wake them up by split squatting, fluttering, crunching, and lunging them? They cause you great, great pain. Ow. But I'm stretching, things are popping (in a good way), and I'm definitely waking up my body. It's a beautiful day and I'm ready for workout five! Periodically I'll fill you in on my progress, mostly to keep myself accountable. I'll have my iphone during training runs and I'm not above stopping to take pretty pictures for you... it wouldn't be as fun without my camera, people! So, here I go. I hope you have a beautiful weekend. Thank you for visiting me here this week!
