When Eddie was about six weeks old (4 1/2 years ago!), I took this group of photos... White is so tough for me to photograph, and these are pretty dark, but I love this set. Happy Monday to you. It was a beautiful weekend here! Saturday evening, we had a few good friends over for Doug's Birthday. I get nervous, even having very good friends over, so we tried to have the house looking good. And I wanted it a little special for Doug's big day...I thought I'd share a few photos (which also makes me nervous) I took earlier that afternoon. I felt like our little home looked presentable, so I was able to relax and we had a great time!

Happy Friday and weekend to you. I love these pieces from the upcoming Leslie Hindman auction of fine furniture and decorative arts. The Japanese tsuba are new to me, and I like them for the metal, the folk art, the geometry, and the femininity (which seems anomalous in a sword guard). I also love the Chinese tomb figure. To me she's saying, "Just try to mess with me." And the pitcher and vase are simply sweet to me.

Sunday at the Farmers Market
